Salary :

The Distribution Analyst is responsible for managing inventory distribution to support efficient, cost-effective product delivery across distribution centers. The role focuses on aligning distribution strategies with fulfillment goals, optimizing stock levels, and maintaining effective inventory controls. This position requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and involves analytical decision-making to enhance the overall supply chain performance.

Essential Functions :

Distribution Planning (35%)

  • Analyze order demand and supply chain capabilities to optimize product distribution.
  • Evaluate and improve distribution network efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with logistics partners and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to enhance transportation processes.
  • Establish and manage slotting, min / max levels, and inventory allocation by region.
  • Recommend and implement distribution best practices and innovative strategies.

Data Analysis and Performance Monitoring (30%)

  • Define and monitor KPIs related to distribution effectiveness.
  • Use data analysis to drive improvements in order fulfillment, lead times, and cost efficiency.
  • Forecast order demand trends to support inventory planning.
  • Maintain and distribute low-stock reports and coordinate resupply actions.
  • Inventory Optimization (20%)

  • Ensure optimal inventory levels to avoid overstock or stockouts using safety stock and reorder points.
  • Minimize transportation costs through strategic restocking.
  • Execute transfer orders and manage inventory balancing across DCs.
  • Support 3PL returns and inventory corrections.
  • Collaboration and Communication (10%)

  • Align restocking plans with broader business goals through collaboration with procurement, sales, and logistics.
  • Effectively communicate forecasts, promotions, and restocking plans with stakeholders and 3PLs.
  • Continuous Improvement (5%)

  • Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing best-in-class distribution processes.
  • Skills & Qualifications :

  • Experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards), Excel, Tableau, and data tools.
  • Knowledge of distribution and inventory management best practices.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present data clearly to various audiences.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Collaborative mindset with a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Required Education and Experience :

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in distribution or supply chain roles.
  • A combination of education and experience may meet the requirements.
  • Preferred Education and Experience :

  • Professional certifications in supply chain (e.g., APICS, CSCP).
  • Experience with e-commerce fulfillment operations.
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma inventory practices.
  • Advanced data analytics experience.
  • Supervisory Responsibility :

    This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

    Work Environment :

    This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and / or diffused in the work environment.

    Position Type / Expected Hours of Work :

    This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an hour lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention.

    Exact hour requirements can be reasonably modified as necessary for the business needs by the employees manager.

    Physical Demands :

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.
