SUMMARY :
The UX / UI Design Manager will lead the user experience and interface design across all of our digital platforms—including our consumer-facing website, Travel Advisor Portal, and mobile app. This mid-senior level role combines people leadership, strategic thinking, and hands‑on design execution. The UX / UI Design Manager will directly manage a team of designers while defining and implementing scalable design systems and experiences that delight users, improve accessibility, and drive business outcomes. This role collaborates closely with cross‑functional stakeholders in product, marketing, IT, and analytics to ensure user‑centered design principles are integrated across all digital initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Design Leadership : Define and evolve the UX / UI strategy and visual design language across all digital properties to ensure consistent, intuitive, and brand‑aligned user experiences.
Team Management : Lead and mentor a team of UX / UI designers. Set goals, provide feedback, and ensure high‑quality output through thoughtful critique and design reviews.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration : Partner with product managers, developers, marketers, and content creators to conceptualize and deliver user‑friendly features and interfaces.
Design Systems : Establish and maintain a scalable design system, including UI components, typography, color palettes, and interaction patterns.
User Research & Testing : Leverage qualitative and quantitative research methods (user interviews, usability tests, heatmaps, etc.) to inform and validate design decisions.
Accessibility & Inclusivity : Champion WCAG compliance and accessibility best practices in all designs, ensuring inclusivity for all users.
Prototyping & Wireframing : Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs using tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
Design Governance : Drive consistency and quality through documentation, design QA, and alignment with brand guidelines.
Performance Optimization : Partner with analytics and Product teams to interpret behavioral data and optimize designs to increase engagement, reduce friction, and improve conversion rates.
Emerging Trends : Stay current on UX / UI best practices, emerging design tools, and digital trends in the luxury travel, e‑commerce, and hospitality sectors.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Directly manages UX / UI Designers.
Provides coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in design, human‑computer interaction, digital media, or a related field.
Five or more years of UX / UI design experience, including at least two years of managing or mentoring designers.
Computer skills required :
Content Management Systems; Development Software; Microsoft Office Suite; Project Management Software, Database Software, Design Software, Internet Software, Spreadsheet Software, Word Processing Software, Electronic Mail Software, Presentation Software.
Other skills required :
Proven experience designing for responsive web, mobile, and app platforms in e‑commerce or travel / hospitality environments.
Proficient in modern design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite) and prototyping platforms (e.g., InVision, Framer).
Strong understanding of UX principles, usability heuristics, and accessibility (WCAG) standards.
Demonstrated ability to lead design thinking workshops and collaborative ideation sessions.
Comfortable working in agile environments and iterating quickly based on feedback.
Excellent visual design sensibility with a strong portfolio of impactful work.
Outstanding communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
