Position : Carrier Operations Specialist

Location : Missouri City, TX

Pay : $95,000 to $105,000 / year

Experience :

3–5+ years of experience in transportation or logistics, with direct exposure to parcel / last-mile carrier operations.
Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and freight optimization tools.

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred).

Type : Full-time; Contract

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 1st Shift

Greene Resources is seeking a Carrier Operations Specialist to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description :

Support daily transportation operations to achieve on-time and in-full (OTIF) deliveries.

Manage relationships with parcel and last-mile carriers, 3PLs, and freight partners.

Assist in negotiating carrier contracts and rates with a focus on cost-per-package optimization.

Track KPIs (on-time %, damage / claim rates, cost per mile / shipment) and escalate corrective actions when needed.

Analyze shipping trends and help design smarter, more efficient distribution strategies.

Use TMS and analytics tools to track shipments, resolve exceptions, and build performance reports.

Partner with internal teams (Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales) to align transportation with business needs.

Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other transportation regulations.

Contribute ideas and support sustainability initiatives like fuel efficiency and emissions reduction.

Position Requirements :

Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Knowledge of freight modes (parcel, LTL, FTL, intermodal).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel preferred.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

Certification in logistics / transportation (CLTD, CTL, APICS).

Experience with delivery checkout / shipping-rate systems.

Exposure to budgeting and P&L.
