Location :   Linthicum Heights, MD (21090) or Washington, DC (20002)

Salary :   $65K–$75K

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Survey Crew Chief in the Baltimore / Washington, DC area. This opportunity offers hands-on field work, leadership responsibilities, and the chance to work with cutting-edge survey technologies.

Job Duties :

Lead and manage field survey projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Operate and troubleshoot advanced survey equipment in the field.

Prepare maps and plans using CAD software.

Work independently and provide guidance to junior team members.

Qualifications :

3–6 years of experience in land surveying or a related utility-based field.

NSPS / CST Level 2 Certification required.

Experience with GPS, LiDAR, UAS, GIS, and modern survey technologies.

Proficiency with CAD software for survey map preparation.

Strong work ethic, leadership skills, and ability to work independently.

Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.

Must pass DOT drug screening (including randoms) and maintain a good MVR record.

Schedule & Travel :

100% field-based role.

Travel primarily throughout Baltimore and Washington, DC.
