    The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) supports the Department by acquiring, distributing, installing and maintaining Local Area Networks, personal computers, mainframe computers, software, and data communications networks. ITSD also plans and coordinates the implementation of advanced technology.

    The Information Technology Services Division's Computer Allocations and Tracking Sections is seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates to join our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide both in-office and field-based technical support across New York City, ensuring the continuity and effectiveness of NYPD technology services.

    • Provide citywide IT incident support, leveraging advanced troubleshooting skills and incident management methodologies.
    • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
    • Conduct on-site installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software, adhering to configuration management standards.
    • Perform system validation, preventative maintenance, hardware diagnostics, software updates, and physical system upkeep.
    • Accurately document all service activities, system changes, and resolution steps.
    • Install, configure, and maintain printers, copiers, and multifunction devices.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve printer issues including hardware malfunctions, network connectivity failures, and device errors.
    • Conduct routine preventative maintenance and manage timely replacement of consumables to optimize performance and minimize service interruptions.
    • Configure networks, manage VLANs and ports, and provision secure workstations.
    • Support data migration, system upgrades, and other critical field-based projects.

      COMPUTER ASSOC (OPERATIONS) -

      Minimum Qualifications

      1. A certificate from an accredited technical school (approximately hours) with a specialization in computer operations, and two years of satisfactory full-time computer operations experience, in a large-scale networked, multi- tiered, or mainframe computer environment, or two years of satisfactory data communications network experience working in a mainframe or multi-tiered computer environment; or

      2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in "1" above; or

      3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time experience as described

      in "1" above; or

      4. A satisfactory combination of education and / or experience equivalent to "1", "2",or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least two years of full-time experience as described in "1" above

      Preferred Skills

    • Proficient in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP / IP, LAN / WAN technologies, PowerShell, and scripting -Hands-on experience with Windows 10 & 11, Windows Server / / , Microsoft SQL / , MS Office / / , and O -Familiarity with ITIL frameworks or equivalent IT incident management methodologies -Strong customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse stakeholders -Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and work independently in both field and office settings
