PowerAmerica, situated within the Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) at N.C. State University was founded in 2015 and is one of 18 Manufacturing USA Institutes nationwide. Each institute is focused on growing a sector of advanced manufacturing, thus making the U.S. better poised to compete economically on a global scale. PowerAmerica is entirely funded by a combination of membership dues, sponsored awards, and other revenue-generating events and activities.
Our mission is to save energy and create U.S. manufacturing jobs by accelerating the development and large-scale adoption of wide bandgap semiconductor chips, made with silicon carbide and gallium nitride, and insert them in power electronics circuits.

Essential Job Duties :
The Departmental Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Institute, including budgeting, invoicing, contract support, and procurement. This role ensures accurate and efficient management of financial processes and collaborates with the Director of Research Administration to maintain the Institute’s financial health.
