1. Evaluates curriculum and instructional resources to leverage in our school to help us meet our instructional goals
2. Reviews lesson plans and provides feedback to teachers based on the fulfillment of the requirements of the State Department of Education and Exceptional Childrens Department.
3. Evaluates teacher lessons that reflect accommodations and differentiation for student learning styles.
4. Provides continual feedback to teachers to ensure data-driven decisions via lesson plan feedback and coaching sessions using designated platform
5. Ensures teachers present subject matter according to guidelines established by Tennessee Department of Education, board policies, and administrative regulations.
6. Collaborate with other members of staff for planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and best practices according to district requirements.
7. Provide PD to teachers on adapting relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.
8. Assist in selection of instructional materials and staff PD on new material
9. Collaborate with Director of Lower School to analyze academic data for the school to determine ongoing instructional priorities
10. Acts as one of the school administrators in the absence of the , Director of Lower School, and other directors
11. Participates in weekly leadership team meetings providing instructional data insight
12. Collaborate with the DLS on monitoring of academic data schoolwide
13. Secure TEAM evaluation certification via TNCompass
14. Leads, monitors, and supports the schoolwide tutoring initiatives to support Tier I instruction
1. Coach teachers to plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, assessment, activities, materials, and technology that reflect accommodations for individual needs of students assigned.
2. Work cooperatively with the Director of Lower School to modify curriculum as needed for all students according to guidelines established in ESSA.
3. Assist students in analyzing and improving student methods and habits.
4. Consistently monitor student achievement through formal and informal assessment and use results to plan for instructional delivery, not limited to the selection and creation of assessments.
5. Assist DoO with operational decisions impacting instruction, as needed
6. Coordinate with any additional instructional coaching staff employed with MMA
7. Build relationships with key vendors and others for the forward movement of the school
1. Coach teachers to create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of the student.
2. Support teachers to manage student behavior and administer discipline according to Board policies, administrative regulations, and follow laws of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) with the assistance of the Director of Lower School.
3. Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct handbook and Procedure Safeguards.
4. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
5. Collaborate with the DOO and DLS on the inventory of instructional materials and ordering

7. Demonstrate the use of appropriate and effective techniques for engaging parents and community.
8. Coordinate with the special education department to support providing parents, staff, and admin team with IEPs at Glance and updated goal revisions based off of students individual IEP goals.
1. Participation in leadership development programming determined by Director of Lower School
2. Completion of TNCompass training for TEAM Evaluation tools
3. Schedule and lead coaching sessions, data team meetings, and schoolwide PD based on observations
4. Conduct formal observations for instructional staff based on rubric and schoolwide procedures
5. Engage in and implement new learning from professional development activities correlated with teacher development needs and with school and state goals.
6. Keep informed of and complies with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
7. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
8. Monitor and oversee the schoolwide Response to Intervention program
9. Coordinate with special education department about caseload and ESSA
10. Ability to support small groups of students for instructional resources based on data
11. Planning and implementation of school initiatives
12. Participates as a part of the School Improvement Planning process
13. Creates supply list for grade levels as needed by the curriculum
Bachelors degree required
Tennessee teaching certification required
A minimum of 5+ years teaching experience required
Completion of a leadership development program preferred
Experience working with under-resourced communities, families, and / or students
Demonstrated success in building relationships and trust with leaders, teachers, parents, and community
Proven written and verbal communication skills with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated success in building relationships and trust with leaders, teachers, parents, students, and community
Demonstrated effective teacher effectiveness with underserved and special populations of students
Demonstrated knowledge of Common Core State Standards and instructional shifts
Experience with building test coordination under Memphis Shelby County Schools
