BSN Clinical Instructor - OB or Pediatrics - Per Diem

As a part-time campus position, Brookline College is seeking a per diem instructor to teach clinicals, simulation and skills labs with a med / surg or OB and / or Pediatrics background. No previous experience required, must have previous experience in med / surg patient care.

Responsibilities include collaborating with other instructors in preparing, administering, and grading examinations for the course, participating in the preparation of the final evaluations for the course, assuring class attendance and grades are kept and submitted, assisting with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure quality of program, planning and implementing orientation of new faculty in both theory and clinical facilities for the courses, utilizing principles of teaching that recognize the characteristics of the adult learner, making continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction, demonstrating or acquiring skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content / material during interactive teaching and learning, maintaining student records of attendance, skills check-off forms, and assisting with program data collection, submitting required program reports and forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner, keeping current with new technologies and safety regulations, participating in committee activities that support the mission and function of the nursing program, attending faculty meetings, planning and supervising student clinical experience in assigned health care facilities, evaluating student performance in relation to clinical learning outcomes in accordance with policies and procedures established by Unitek College, Department of Nursing, providing feedback of clinical performance or specific event immediately after observation, assisting in maintaining student records of clinical attendance, skills check-off forms, and assisting with program data collection, ensuring the clinical assignments meet both student and facility needs, determining the best method to observe, instruct, and evaluate students, determining if clinical facility meets all health and safety requirements for Unitek College students to attend clinicals, providing access to students for ongoing communication through scheduling of office hours, electronic communication and other appropriate methods, and participating in student advising activities.

Qualifications include no previous teaching experience required, a valid, active license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing, a Master of Nursing or higher degree from an accredited college or university that includes course work in nursing or education, administration. OB, Pediatrics or Psychiatry, at least four years' experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care, a year of clinical experience within the last five years (clinical teaching applies toward direct patient care), and expertise in one of the following areas of nursing Psychiatric, Geriatrics, Med / Surg, Pediatrics, OB-Gyn, Mental Health.
