Job Description

The Medical Assistant provides safe and efficient patient care services under the supervision and direction of a licensed provider and nurse. The role involves performing various administrative duties and requires completion of training and competencies for medical technicians. This position is back-office focused, primarily charting patients for a general practice clinic within a hospital health network.

Responsibilities

Take and record vitals, including blood pressure, heart rate, age, weight, and temperature.

Room patients and set up files for the doctor.

Prepare rooms and stock supplies after patient appointments.

Work alongside one provider and assist with daily tasks.

Perform routine tasks needed for patient care in a clinic setting.

Essential Skills

Medical Assisting Diploma

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant

Proficiency in electronic medical records and patient care

Additional Skills & Qualifications

CPT license (preferred)

Strong customer service skills

Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification

Experience in phlebotomy and patient education

Work Environment

This position is situated in a fast-paced clinic environment, operating Monday through Friday from 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 30 PM. The clinic houses 12 providers, with an on-site lab and imaging center. The team-oriented environment offers opportunities for advancement within the organization, and doctors cater lunch daily for staff.

This is a Contract position based out of THOUSAND OAKS, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00 / hr.
