Health Information Management Technician

Job Summary :

The Health Information Management Technician II processes health information under the direction of the HIM Manager or designated supervisor, which includes but is not limited to :

• Pick-up of discharged patient records from nursing units; prepping / scanning / indexing documents in the EMR.
• Answers telephone and responds according to department policy.
• Keeps supervisor informed of issues / concerns that may arise.
• Seeks out additional tasks when assigned work is completed; provides backup coverage for other positions in the HIM department.
• Meets quality and / or productivity expectations.
• Additional duties may include accurately analyze records for de?ciencies; manage all aspects of the clerical transcription process; works various work queues in the EMR.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
