ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Serves as a Public Health Laboratory Technician performing high complexity sample analysis in accordance with the current environmental / biological scope and / or accredited under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Program (CLIP).

• Perform high complexity tests that are authorized by the Clinical Laboratory Senior Scientist.
• Complete demonstrations of capabilities as dictated by the laboratory.
• Shall follow all laboratory policies and Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• As outline in 42 CFR 493, the testing personnel are responsible for specimen processing, test performance and for reporting test results.
• Each individual performs only those high complexity tests that are authorized by the laboratory director and require a degree of skill commensurate with the individual's education, training or experience, and technical abilities.
• Each individual performing high complexity testing must :

Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

The Public Health Clinical Laboratory Technicians must qualify under one of the following options :

24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses; or

AND

Have laboratory training that includes either of the following :

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS :

Must have a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTI are required.
