Applicants for the General Counsel role at the company should be qualified Solicitors or Barristers eligible to practice in England and Wales, with extensive experience in managing in-house legal teams and advising at senior levels, preferably in government or complex organizations. Comprehensive legal expertise is essential, including in areas such as commercial arrangements in government, data protection, freedom of information, legislative interpretation, and regulatory regimes. The role requires the ability to present complex information clearly and to build collaborative relationships both internally and with external counsel.
