We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Developer to work with a Department of Defense (DoD) client in the Newport News, VA area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, a passion for learning new technology, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that meet our client’s needs using Agile methodologies to quickly build solutions based on customer requirements.
This position is located in Newport News, VA.
Your future duties and responsibilities :
Design, develop, and maintain software applications using languages such as JavaScript / Typescipt, C#, Active Server Pages (ASP) / .net, SQL, CSS, JQuery, AJAX, C++
Create technical prototypes and assist with creation of software documentation including requirements, design, and user manuals.
Collaborate with team members to find better, more efficient ways to manage applications throughout their lifecycle.
Develop enterprise software solutions for business problems by using the latest tools, such as ASP.NET, Java, and other open-source technologies.
Participate in peer-led engineering and code reviews.
Consistently write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
Troubleshoot and debug software application issues.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role :
US Citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance is required
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. : Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a similar major with extensive computer-based or technical content)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing and maintaining software applications with JavaScript, C++, JQuery, AJAX, HTML, ASP.Net
Minimum of 5 years’ experience using software tools such as Visual Studio, Visual C++ v6.x, SQL Server, and JBuilder 5.x
A deep understanding of engineering concepts, including Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
A great demeanor and desire to learn quickly
Excellent problem solving, written and verbal communication skills
Flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity
IAT Level II certification required (e.g. Security+, Cloud+)
Desired qualifications / non-essential skills required :
Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
Knowledge of Containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with CI / CD Pipelines
Experience with DevSecOps principles and DoD policies related to the topic
