Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care, including sick call, chronic care, history and physicals, and emergency care as required.

Ensure timely, appropriate care at the right location for all patients.

Visit the infirmary daily and document patient encounters in medical records as assigned.

Participate in call as needed for the role.

Adhere to the approved formulary for therapeutic regimens and request non-formulary medication approval when necessary.

Provide in-house treatment or resources before seeking off-site referrals, handling emergencies on-site as required.

Perform emergency treatments, demonstrate CPR techniques, and administer related drug therapies with required certifications.

Support medical care standards by following established policies and procedures, offering instruction to colleagues when needed.

Attend medical staff meetings, provide in-service education, and participate in monthly quality reviews and chart audits.

Notify the Regional Medical Director and Site Health Services Administrator of any schedule changes.

Participate in quality improvement activities, including sentinel event reviews and utilization reviews.

Provide appropriate health care within the scope of practice, order necessary lab tests, X-rays, and ECGs.

Initiate consultations and non-formulary requests with supervisory physician’s approval.

Educate patients about medical conditions, medications, diets, weight control, and prescribed treatments.

Perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.

Key Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

Current state license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.

Certification within the scope of practice and competency to perform responsibilities as defined by state practice act.

Current CPR certification.

Background check, security clearance, and drug screening required.
