PICU Nurse Job Details Location : Indianapolis, IN 46202 (Indiana nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting : Pediatric Cardiac ICU (CVPICU) Assignment Type : Travel nurse contract Start Date : December 15, 2025 End Date : March 16, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Nursing Shift : 3x12-hour night shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 00), every other weekend required Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Pay : $2200-$2260 Patient Ratios : 1 : 1-2 Floating : Required to cardiac stepdown unit and PICU First Time Travel Nurses : Welcome PICU RN Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ICU nursing experience Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana BLS and PALS certifications required Proficiency with telemetry and ventilator management Experience caring for ventilated pediatric patients, chest tubes, acute airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation / management Ability to float between cardiac stepdown and PICU units Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing program Two supervisor references required Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted) PICU Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric cardiac patients, including VAD and heart transplant cases Monitor and interpret telemetry; manage ventilated patients Assist with chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and acute airway management Perform hemodynamic and ICP monitoring Start and maintain IVs, manage dysrhythmias, and deliver post-cardiac surgery care Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services) Float as needed to cardiac stepdown and other PICU units Complete unit-based orientation and required modules prior to start Apply now to join our Indianapolis healthcare team as a PICU Registered Nurse and make a difference in pediatric cardiac care!
