Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join an inpatient rehabilitation facility in Clive, IA, on a travel contract.

The Occupational Therapist will evaluate patients recovering from illness, surgery, or injury and develop personalized treatment plans to restore independence, functional mobility, and daily living skills.

The ideal candidate is patient-centered, adaptable, and experienced in acute or inpatient rehab care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ functional abilities, cognitive skills, and rehabilitation needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide therapy interventions such as ADL retraining, neuromuscular re-education, strengthening, and mobility support.
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, adaptive strategies, and safe use of assistive devices.
• Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with physical therapy, speech therapy, and nursing staff to ensure patient-centered care.
• Support recovery, independence, and improved quality of life through evidence-based OT practices.
