We are focused on strengthening democracy and increasing civic participation. We are hiring a founding CMO who aligns with our vision to shape our brand, grow our audience, and build our marketing engine ahead of our March 2026 launch.
Position Overview
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will serve as a core member of the founding team. This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on creative execution. The ideal candidate has deep UI / UX fluency, exceptional videography and video editing skills, and preferred experience leading marketing and engagement strategy in the tech or civic tech space.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and lead Elect Better’s overall marketing, brand, and growth strategy.
Build and execute user acquisition, engagement, and retention campaigns.
Guide UI / UX decisions to ensure clarity, accessibility, and strong user retention.
Lead creative direction, including short‑form video, visual identity, and brand standards.
Oversee content creation across social, product surfaces, and digital channels.
Build early marketing analytics dashboards and performance reporting.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and partnerships teams, as applicable.
Represent marketing strategy in fundraising conversations.
Build and mentor future marketing contributors as resources grow.
Qualifications
Extensive proficiency in UI / UX principles and cross‑functional design collaboration.
3+ years of marketing leadership, preferably in tech or mission‑driven digital platforms.
Demonstrated success in audience growth, engagement, and retention.
Experience in early‑stage startups or fast‑moving environments preferred.
Strong data fluency and comfort with analytics tools.
Clear communicator, with storytelling capabilities, proactive problem‑solver, and mission‑aligned.
Videography and video editing experience preferred (portfolio preferred).
Startup experience is a plus.
