2025-2026 School Year-Day Treatment Behavioral Interventionist

The Behavioral Interventionist position provides supervision / implementation of academic and behavioral intervention services to help develop plans for students who have been placed in the setting that will help them overcome the barriers to their success in a regular setting.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Resolve discipline problems and maintain records of any action taken to ensure that the discipline policy is administered in a fair and just manner and that an optimum learning environment is maintained. In addition, report all discipline infractions to home school administration.
- Collaborate with the faculty in the enforcement and implementation of the rules and other regulations of the student code of conduct to effect positive student behavior in the school.
- Help design, implement and monitor behavior interventions to be implemented by the entire staff.
- Provide documentation and suggestions to the Supervisor / Director regarding the discipline of any student that guides the Supervisor / Director in determining the disciplinary action to be administered to the student.
- Conduct research on discipline and welfare with parents, faculty, counselors, support service personnel, students and discussion with other school districts in order to make recommendations to the referral teams to provide input on response-to-intervention programs.
- Develop and maintain a liaison with community and governmental agencies in regard to problems relating to drug and alcohol abuse, truancy, homelessness, mental health initiatives and other social and disciplinary issues.
- Utilize and ensure implementation of PBIS and RTI to reduce discipline problems and increase academic performance.
- Coordinate all student discipline, report cards, and attendance with the home school.
- Adhere to the Arkansas Code of Ethics.
- Follow procedures in the personnel policy handbook(s).
- Other duties as assigned by Directors and / or Supervisors.
Qualifications :
Management and supervisory skill and / or training and experienceKnowledge and experience in adolescent behavior issues and psychologyKnowledge of community agencies / programs that provide services for adolescentsDeep concern for fostering constructive adolescent behavior, especially in support of social, emotional, behavioral and academic achievementExperience working with at-risk students is preferredPositive attitudePhysical Requirements :
