Summary

As a Sr. Database Administrator you will play a key role in designing and developing solutions to support data management, quality assurance, and data analytics initiatives within the Product Development and R&D group. You will work closely with Operations, Technology, and Risk groups across OneSource Virtual to facilitate new products and to help our business continue to grow rapidly.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and translate business requirements into database solutions. This includes developing data models, and designing or tuning data transformations for medium complexity use cases.
  • Writing or tuning stored procedures to implement the business logic, along with enhancing & debugging the existing database code- with focus on automation, efficiency and error handling.
  • Hands on experience in query performance and database tuning for SQL Server and MySQL Databases
  • Working as a team member in the development process - analysis, design, development and testing as well as providing support.
  • Ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision- exercising independent judgement, autonomy & proactivity.
  • Provide in-depth analysis to identify current and future issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Work with on-premise and cloud hosted database solutions

Competencies

  • Strong SQL Server and MySQL database creation, performance management, maintenance, and tuning skills
  • Performance tuning expertise across stored procedures, logical and physical data model, and triggers
  • SQL Tuning and experience mentoring software developers on tuning techniques
  • Ability to work with software developers and testers to achieve goals efficiently
  • Data transformation and environment setup
  • Self-motivated to be part of a great team in a high growth company

    • Qualifications

    Required

  • 5+ years experience as a SQL Server and / or MySQL DBA to enable handling large datasets.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with data modeling, database design and architecture.
  • 5+ years SQL tuning and database performance tuning.

    • Preferred

  • Experience with OLTP and Warehouse databases is highly preferred
