Job Summary

The Mainframe Developer IV will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, configuring, and supporting mainframe technologies. This role ensures the operational availability of mainframe applications, oversees product lifecycle management, and provides subject matter expertise in core mainframe systems.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a Mainframe SME , leading technical solutions and support.

Participate in infrastructure planning and provide insight into future technology direction.

Establish, maintain, and document mainframe language and development tool roadmaps .

Lead and coordinate application migration projects involving mainframe systems.

Demonstrate broad technical expertise across multiple technologies with deep knowledge in at least one.

Stay updated on emerging trends and innovations in mainframe technology.

Build strong networks with business users, vendors, and industry peers.

Ensure documentation of complex technical systems for smooth operations and handover.

Drive implementation efforts : evaluate vendor proposals, perform build vs. buy analysis, manage project plans, coordinate vendors, test solutions, and track progress.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Strong knowledge and experience in mainframe design, development, and support .

Expert knowledge of Mainframe Operating Systems and Hardware .

Experience with software change management solutions, productivity tools, and application lifecycle management.
