Therapist – Behavioral Health & Community Outreach

At CWC , we are dedicated to providing comprehensive behavioral health services to individuals and families in Oakland Park, FL . We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapist to provide individual, group, and community-based therapy with a focus on substance use recovery and mental health support.

The ideal candidate is an experienced therapist with 5+ years in the behavioral health and healthcare field , has strong community-based experience , and excels at leading group therapy sessions for individuals facing substance use challenges . This role will involve collaborating with community partners, facilitating outreach programs, and helping clients access critical mental health resources.

Job Summary

As a Therapist , you will provide culturally competent therapy services to a diverse client population, including those struggling with substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and life transitions. You will work in both clinical and community settings , leading group therapy sessions, substance use programs, and outreach initiatives to support long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Individual & Group Therapy : Provide trauma-informed therapy, substance use counseling, and behavioral health interventions.

Community Engagement : Lead group therapy and outreach programs in partnership with local organizations, recovery centers, and healthcare providers.

Substance Use & Recovery Support : Implement evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, MI, and harm reduction strategies) to support clients in recovery.

Crisis Intervention & Case Management : Assess client needs, provide referrals, and ensure continuity of care in community-based programs.

Compliance & Documentation : Maintain accurate clinical records, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA and ethical standards.

Collaboration : Work with case managers, psychiatrists, and social service agencies to provide holistic client care.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education : Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field (LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT preferred).

Experience : 5+ years in behavioral health & healthcare settings, with strong community outreach and group therapy leadership experience.

Substance Use Expertise : Knowledge of substance use treatment modalities, 12-step programs, MAT, and relapse prevention strategies.

Clinical Skills : Experience with CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention.

Licensure : Active and unrestricted LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT license in the state of Florida (or ability to obtain one).

Preferred : Experience working with court-mandated clients, reentry programs, and underserved populations.

Bilingual (Preferred) : Fluency in English and Spanish to provide culturally competent care.
