Your Role :

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Farm Recruiting Operations, the Farm Recruiting Manager recruits dedicated and passionate new farmers to help grow our network of small family farms producing the best pasture-raised eggs. You'll scour the "Pasture Belt" for potential new farmers, establishing connections with those who are strategically located with suitable land for our needs, who demonstrate the business owner mindset we value, and who share Vital Farms' passion for animal welfare and desire to raise the standards for laying hens. You will sit on the same side of the table with prospective new farmers and share our way of doing business and explain what it takes to be successful with Vital Farms. As a member of the Farm Recruiting Team, you will primarily focus on a portion of the Pasture Belt which includes areas in Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky.

What You'll Do :

• Support the development of farmer pipelines by attending community meetings and exhibiting at local / regional / national events, through engagement with financial institutions, and more.
• Follow clearly defined farmer recruitment and onboarding processes to ensure a positive experience for all stakeholders.
• Facilitate community recruitment meetings with prospective farmers to detail our end-to-end recruiting and barn construction processes.
• Physically walk prospective farmer's land to assess suitability for pastured egg production. Determine whether land meets our internal standards and formally approve / reject land for building.
• Support prospective farmers with securing financing through providing access to lenders, and support the farmers through loan application, grants approval, and other financial processes as needed.
• Work with the Lead Generation Specialist and Farm Recruitment Support Administrator to track and manage the recruitment pipeline to convert qualified leads into Vital Farms farmers, and to ensure necessary documentation for each potential new farmer is collected and maintained in the proper system of record.
• Maintain strong relationships and work closely with the potential farmer from initial introduction through contract signing, before transitioning the relationship to the Construction Project Manager.
• Collaborate and communicate across the Farm Recruitment Team and other Vital Farms functional areas to celebrate wins and problem-solve challenges, facilitate progress towards milestones and objectives, and to ensure Vital Farms' and farmers' mutual success.
• Continually place the farmer at the center of our thinking. Relay process improvements and areas of challenge and opportunity, making solid recommendations and offering solutions to the Senior Manager of Farm Recruiting Operations.
