Compass, Inc. is a non-profit human services organization that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are seeking a highly skilled, self-starter with prior experience in human services and / or affordable housing / social services benefits for the position Sufficiency Supports Coordinator . This position’s primary role is to support a caseload of program participants with housing initiatives for people to live in their own homes. This position reports to the Sufficiency Support Manager.
Essential functions include :
- Housing Support Services (80%) : Provide Housing Support Services (HSS) to a caseload of approximately 40 program participants, as defined in the Maryland Medicaid Waiver.
- Maintain and expand knowledge of housing resources and partnership opportunities.
- Develop relationships with property management companies, housing developers, housing authorities, and other non-profits to increase affordable opportunities and housing supply.
- Educate program participants on financial literacy and independent living skills to support housing goals.
- Develop Housing Plans for all program participants on caseload.
- Troubleshoot attendance and billing issues.
- Complete admissions meetings and procedures for new HSS applicants.
- Other services covered under the Medicaid waiver and as needed to encourage successful outcomes for participants.
- Sufficiency Support (20%) Assist with program development for additional initiatives in the Sufficiency Support program including Benefits Counseling, Peer Mentoring, and Road Ahead series.
- Other duties as assigned by Sufficiency Supports Manager.
Key Requirements and Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with auto insurance and a good driving record; Pass a background check.Minimum of one year experience working or interning in the human services field, with a preference for direct service roles dealing with the IDD population.Strong collaborative, time management, communication, organizational, and reading, writing and math skills.Ability and willingness to work in the field, including program participants’ homes, leading tours under Housing Support Services in the community, etc.A dedication to Compass’ mission to support people with IDD and their families to live the lives they desire in communities of their choice.Preferred Qualifications :
Two years’ experience in the human services field, with a preference for direct service roles dealing with the IDD population.Knowledge of DDA services and billing procedures.Experience with OneDrive, SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, LTSS, and ICareManager or similar care management software.Experience developing programs and supporting new initiatives .Experience / familiarity with affordable housing programs and social services benefits.Bilingual in English / Spanish.Compensation and Work Conditions :
Starting pay is $29 - $31 an hour depending on qualifications . Paid holidays and 15 days of paid time off (PTO.)
