Regional Vice President Of Operations

The Regional Vice President of Operations will be responsible for maximizing clinical, financial, volume and other operational performance for hospitals within a region. The position will work with hospital CEOs and hospital leadership teams within assigned area to address operational issues at the Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals in order to achieve exceptional quality outcomes and performance goals. The individual will also work with the individual hospital leadership team and support members to develop the strategic plans for existing hospitals in order to achieve budgeted financial and other key performance metrics. This position requires exceptional leadership, deep healthcare operations expertise, and the ability to inspire and mobilize large, cross-functional teams toward ambitious goals.
How You'll Contribute
- Strategic Leadership : Set and execute the region's operational strategy in partnership with the Division Vice President and executive team. Lead the development and deployment of initiatives that advance organizational objectives and market competitiveness.
- Operational Excellence : Oversee the performance of all IRF hospitals within the division, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and patient safety. Champion best practices and innovative solutions to optimize processes and outcomes. Monitors the operations and performance of hospitals and provides advice and direction to CEOs and hospital leadership for improvement.
- Partner / Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital partner leadership and stakeholders to ensure the hospital is meeting its mission and the needs of the local community.
- Change Management : Lead large-scale transformation efforts, including the adoption of new technologies, care models, and operational frameworks. Ensure successful change management and stakeholder engagement at all levels.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical and non-clinical leaders, fostering alignment and synergy across departments and facilities.
- Performance Management : Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress, identify opportunities, and drive accountability for results.
- Resource Stewardship : Oversee resource allocation, budgeting, and policy development to support division priorities and ensure financial sustainability.
- Talent Development : Mentor and develop high-performing leaders and teams, cultivating a pipeline of future executives and operational talent. Responsible for the hiring, orientation, and evaluating the performance of CEOs and oversees the other members of the hospital teams.
- Governance & Compliance : Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and industry standards.
- Executive Representation : Serve as a key spokesperson and advocate for the region, representing its interests with internal and external stakeholders, including hospital Boards, community partners, and regulatory agencies.

5+ years of experience as a multi-facility manager or 7+ years' senior-level experience in healthcare administration / hospital management, with 5+ years of experience as a hospital CEO or AdministratorSustained high performance, demonstrating management results and business growthExperience collaborating with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders across hospital functionsDemonstrated success leading large-scale transformation and change managementExperience collaborating with executive teams, boards, and diverse stakeholders across hospital functionsProven ability to deliver results in complex, matrixed organizations (required)Ability to travel 60%Lifepoint Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
