Job Title : Welding Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Welding Engineer to provide engineering support to our production teams. This role involves working with various welding processes, contributing technical expertise, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide welding engineering support to production.
- Apply knowledge of welding processes, including GMAW and RSW of mild steel components.
- Act as a technical resource for engineers, skilled trades, and production teams.
- Engage in process validation from concept to equipment start-up.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment while adhering to all policies.
- Coordinate guidance from internal and external customers to meet their needs and perceptions.
- Monitor preventive maintenance of welding equipment.
- Conduct inspections of welding processes and products.
- Troubleshoot shop floor weld, robotic, and assembly issues and implement countermeasures.
- Support and monitor robotic equipment, both hardware and software.
- Evaluate new developments in welding and robotics for application to current processes.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in monitoring weld parameters and quality using Miller Continuum and Fanuc Robot.Ability to analyze weld destructive test results and changes in weld consumable usage.Experience in plant floor troubleshooting, training, and problem-solving with root cause analysis.Collaboration with engineering and production teams for quality, warranty, and cost improvement activities.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering Technology, Materials Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with related welding experience is preferred but not required.0-3 years of experience; automotive experience is desirable.Familiarity with TPS methods, Fanuc Robotics, CNC, Vision systems like Cognex / Keyence, Mitsubishi PLC, and Miller Pulse GMAW.Proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD.Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of West Memphis, AR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $60.00 / hr.
