TAP Training Coordinator- Springfield, IL
Job Summary : The Training Coordinator of The Autism Program of Illinois is responsible for all training and education on behalf of The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP), administered by Hope.
Qualifications :
- A master’s degree in social services, human relations, or related field or a bachelor’s degree in social services, human relations, or related field with 3- 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Advanced knowledge of evidence-based best practices in the diagnosis and treatment of autism.
- Experience designing multimedia presentations and training materials through virtual training platforms and e-learning tools such as Articulate.
- Experience facilitating trainings in a culturally sensitive manner to individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
- Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills for scheduling, reporting, and maintaining training records.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout Illinois.
Essential Functions :
Manages the statewide training for The Autism Program of Illinois.Identifies training gaps and priorities across different regions within the state; conducting surveys, focus groups, and interviews with stakeholders and TAP partners to understand training needs.Designs standardized training programs that adhere to Autism best practices, creating engaging training materials including presentations, handouts, and online modules.Facilitates in-person and virtual training sessions for diverse audiences, professionals, parents, and community members, across the state of IL.Utilizes effective teaching methods like role-playing, case studies, and interactive activities into trainings.Monitors the effectiveness of training programs through post-training assessments and surveys making necessary adjustments to training materials and delivery methods based on assessment results / feedback.Monitors autism research, regulations, and policy changes impacting programs and services for persons with autism, updates training materials to reflect changes.Collaborates with the communication and marketing team to plan the annual TAP N2 Hope training conference to set up registration for virtual trainings, and provide content for the TAP Newsletter, website, and social media.Prepares monthly and quarterly reports that include training calendars, participation data, survey results etc.Serves as an active participant in TAP meetings and events as assigned.Serves as a back-up for the TAP Resource Coordinator as needed.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Use technology including Microsoft Office 365 to deliver and manage training content.Maintain focus and active engagement while training which may require moving about, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time.Ability to proofread and edit documentation for accuracy.Ability to transport, set up and tear down training spaces, technology etc.Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum of 25 lbs.Ability to drive to designated training sites throughout the state of IL or procure alternative transportation.Working Conditions :
Work is primarily performed in an indoor office setting, with little exposure to excessive noise, temperature, etc.Offsite environments could include public and private settings such as daycares, schools, law enforcement training facilities, libraries etc.Work hours are standard business hours with occasional early morning or late evening hours required based on training needs.Hope is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
