The Supplier Development Manager identifies new partners and suppliers in a designated area (USA, Canada and Mexico) for Liebherr Aerospace and Transportation Division (AER).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in trade and supplier shows
  • Build a database and network of potential suppliers and partners
  • Manage the sourcing of targeted technologies in the USA
  • Manage the development and the qualification of the new suppliers / partners until the validation for the FAI’s
  • Identify and ensure reporting of new aircraft level technologies or technology trends which may have an impact of Liebherr-Aerospace product portfolio
  • Actively participate in logistics / quality teams and meeting
  • Conduct supplier and partner audits to ensure performance (OTD & TNQF)
  • Ensure consistency between improvement plans (Q, C, D, T); identify points during assessment; and manage actions within the deadlines established
  • Manage supplier’s improvement and delivery of lean projects, demonstrating measurable and shared results (e.g. cycles, stock, productivity)
  • Deliver regular reports (e.g. KPI, major events, internal satisfaction) and summarize lessons learned
  • Implement a full functioning supply chain function

Competencies

  • Education and Experience : Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field with 2-5 years of relevant position-related experience,
  • with 5-years of experience in the aeronautical market with auditing, logistic, and quality responsibilities; or a combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities while fulfilling all commitments. Handles a fair workload and meets deadlines. Accepts new responsibilities and adapts to changes in procedures.
  • Ability to work independently to solve problems and takes the initiative to look for opportunities to take on more responsibilities.
  • Ability to conduct an audit (SCMH); identify supplier risks; and create and implement a performance improvement plan
  • Working knowledge of quality and logistics tools and methodologies
  • Demonstrate excellent understanding and be fluent in the English language
  • Ability to identify and solve problems effectively and demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Demonstrates concern for the accuracy and quality of work. Takes steps to correct mistakes and uses feedback to improve overall performance.
  • Ability to work in potentially stressful situations.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze business and financial data.
  • Possesses strong logical, mathematical, database, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to utilize MS Office at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, domestically and internationally
