Job Description :

Responsible for full lifecycle systems engineering support for a range of software and hardware development assembly and integration and test efforts for SATCOM communication systems in the Global Networks group.

Lifecycle systems include support of data link systems from conceptual development to product phase-out. This includes proposal support requirements analysis and management task planning using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) outlining and Cost Account Manager (CAM) duties. Support also includes technical reviews technical reporting and documentation. The role involves leading the design and architecture of communications systems providing technical leadership for DoD programs and generating technical documentation such as statements of work and specifications.

Essential Functions :

• Systems engineering lead that organizes participates in and manages key project / program systems engineering tasks
• Leads requirements analysis requirements decomposition and assignment of requirements to appropriate functional areas of responsibility and manages traceability of requirements back to customer specifications and system level derived requirements
• Leads design synthesis and generation of supporting design documentation which includes technical specifications interface control documents test plans and procedures and test conformance to specifications
• Ensures technical performance quality and adherence to established policies and processes
• Develops and presents project / program design reviews for both internal and external customer audiences
• Understanding of wireless communication theory with working knowledge of digital design RF design mechanical design network design or software design of digital line-of-sight and satellite communication systems.
• Leads or assists in management over systems engineering team and other teams of functional design engineers
• Must have ability and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment on quick reaction projects and will have regular contact with customers.
• Must have the ability to obtain a secret level clearance Top Secret preferred
