Assemble a variety of components into assemblies per instructions and blueprint drawings; inspect completed work.
- Build and assemble components utilizing assembly procedures, blueprints, and written engineering instructions.
- Adhere to proper specifications for subassemblies and assemblies by using inspection equipment (OD and ID micrometers, height gages, dial calipers, etc.), and reading blueprints.
- Develop detailed assembly instructions for tasks performed.
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Rework and / or repair assembled product according to engineering instructions.
- Serve as backup to other members of the department.
- Serve as a member of the QC Team, supporting coworkers and offering ideas for improvement.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness of the work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience or formal training as a machinist and / or inspector.
- Experience in understanding engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of standard measuring tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of the technical aspects of the job.
