We are seeking an experienced QA / QC Area Manager to oversee the quality assurance and control of construction and welding activities across multiple project sites. This role is essential for maintaining adherence to ASME codes, client-specific standards, and internal procedures. You will lead and mentor a regional QA / QC team while collaborating closely with Sales, Construction Operations, and Project Management to ensure excellence across all phases of project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage QA / QC personnel across the assigned area to ensure efficient execution of all quality functions.

Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the QA / QC team and with cross-functional departments.

Resolve quality issues quickly while minimizing cost and impact to production schedules.

Provide staffing oversight, technical guidance, and mentoring to the QA / QC team.

Deliver regular project status updates to regional QA / QC leadership.

Assist in maintaining and improving quality control programs, procedures, and documentation.

Support the selection and coordination of third-party QA / QC resources as needed.

Actively participate in safety programs and promote a zero-incident culture.

Participate in project and departmental meetings; share insights and lessons learned with key stakeholders.

Maintain open communication channels with construction and project leadership.

Requirements

5+ years in a quality control leadership role within construction (HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, or process piping).

5+ years of people management in a construction environment.

Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification with 10+ years of relevant welding inspection experience.

Strong understanding of ASME codes, construction practices, and inspection procedures.

Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.

Ability to interpret design documents, specifications, and code requirements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Adobe, Bluebeam, and other relevant tools.

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Construction management or engineering degree / certification.

Familiarity with multiple trades (sheet metal, piping, plumbing, controls, electrical, site utilities).

Additional certifications (ICC / ICBO / ASNT).

Experience with platforms like Bidtracer, Smartsheet, Revizto, Revit, Navisworks, and PlanGrid.
