Job Summary :
The Highway Guardrail Installer position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal state and local regulations company policies and procedures and safety guidelines.

Includes but is not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions may be required as deemed necessary by management personnel to contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Reading of plans and schematics.
- Layout of Highway Guardrail.
- Handling and installing all of the materials for guardrail installation.
- Loading and unloading materials on a flat-bed truck and / or trailer by hand digging holes using power tools etc.
- Operation of Post Pounder / Driver Truck.

3-5 years guardrail installationRequired Skills :
Repeated physical effort including driving for several hours per day or several hours at a time standing and walking for extended periods of time (more than several hours) loading and unloading equipment into and out of company vehicles walking on varying ground surfaces and frequently lifting a minimum of 50 poundsWorking from elevated platforms ladders or truck bedsOperating hand / power tools manual dexterity to operate keyboards and smart phones physical agility to use arms legs and hands repetitivelyWorking outdoors working safely under adverse environmental and weather conditions which include high speed traffic areas heavy construction equipment fuel fumes and construction substancesComfortable around vehicles moving through work zones and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings on construction site including placement of machinery and equipment other employees and construction activitiesVision adequate to see moving vehicles read highway construction MOT signs read instructions manuals reports and construction plansHearing adequate to hear approaching vehicles audible commands at a distance from supervisors conversations in person and over the telephoneCommunicating clearly - both written and verbally ability to complete daily paperwork as required by supervisorWorking a flexible schedule which can include day or night shifts weekends and / or holidays adjusting to a changing work schedule working overtime and working individually and as a team with other employeesValid drivers license required will require passing MVR and controlled substance test may require background and criminal record check.
