What You’ll Do

As a  Staff Accountant , you’ll be responsible for general accounts payable duties and reconciliations in a high-volume environment.  You’ll also provide accounting services to the Corporate Support and Operations teams which require customer service focus and strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Invoice processing
  • Journal entries
  • Recording accruals at period end
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Completion of sales and use tax returns
  • Research and solve problems and discrepancies
  • Communicate effectively and professionally
  • Adherence to strict deadlines
  • 1099 Filing
  • Complete other projects and special assignments as requested

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2-5 years accounting experience, preferably in a high transaction volume environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting, including the chart of accounts, debits and credits, preparing journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Previous experience with general ledger systems, NetSuite a plus.
  • Ability to follow through on details and complete tasks with a minimal amount of direct supervision.
  • Ability to solve problems and present resolutions.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Very organized with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Bonus points

  • Experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry
  • Knowledge and experience with sales and use tax returns
