Dentist (DDS or DMD)

The Staff Dentist's primary job function is to work as part of a team to provide high quality, efficient and service oriented patient care while demonstrating the health center's core values. Under the direction of the Dental Director, the Staff Dentist is responsible for providing general dentistry services to health center patients. The Staff Dentist performs oral examinations, cleanings, extractions, fillings, root canals, and other dental services in the health center's scope of work in accordance with industry best practices. In coordination with the Dental Lead, Clinic Manager, and Dental Director, the Staff Dentist provides leadership and general program oversight in support of the department's clinical quality, patient experience, and access goals.

Ensures that the core values of Camino Health Center - Service, Dignity, Excellence and Justice - are carried out within daily tasks.

Essential Function

Clinical Quality

• Provide high quality, clinically appropriate general preventative and restorative dentistry to health center patients. Proficient with all phases of general dentistry.
• Accurately assess each patient's reason for visit / chief complaint and develops a treatment plan to appropriate address their oral health care needs.
• Coordinate service delivery and integrated care with other health center departments.
• Accurately document all services rendered in the electronic dental record.
• Ensure that all services are delivered in a manner that upholds the core values of the health center.
• Appropriately refer patients to outside specialists for needed procedures outside of Camino' scope of work.
• Actively participate in the health center's quality assurance and peer-review programs.
• Assist the Dental Lead, Clinic Manager, and Dental Director in program development, implementation and evaluation as necessary.
• Ensure that clinical performance goals are achieved.
