As an essential corporate function, OOCL’s Inbound Trade department oversees and manages all commercial aspects relating to outgoing vessel utilization and profitability specific to an individual Trade (i.e. Transatlantic / Transpacific / Latin America) and customer segment (i.e. BCO / NVO / Major Commodity). This includes strategic planning, dynamic market analysis, contract and rate negotiation, and tactical execution to provide extended support to our sales organization. The candidate should possess excellent analytical and implementation abilities along with advanced communication skills to ensure buy-in from internal stakeholders and customers alike.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Facilitate Cargo Control Regions to achieve Model Ship lifting and company objectives.
  • Ensure Customer Space Allocation List (CSAL) assignment aligns with Trade direction.
  • Provide timely and efficient pricing responses to regions.
  • Coordinate with Regions to implement business plans in response to market changes.
  • Optimize Region’s portfolio through pricing strategies and service contract negotiations according to trade objectives.
  • Ensure all commercial activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, and manage associated risks effectively.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and under pressure; possess business sense
  • Market knowledge and competitive analysis
  • Knowledge of Tariff rules and regulations
  • Detail Oriented with ability to multitask
  • Sensitive to figures
  • Yield Management
  • Related Trade service structure
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business / Logistics and related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant working experience in Container Liner Shipping company / Logistics related companies
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite / Competency in Windows Applications
