Safety & Security Officer
The safety and security officer preserves the peace and good order within Rochester Regional Health facilities. Additionally, ensuring a safe environment for all that is on the property. Performs security patrols, answers security calls, conducts initial investigations, actively participates in visitor and patient safety initiatives, and responds to emergencies. Provides superior customer service by modeling Rochester Regional Values.
Attributes :
- One year of work experience in the fields of Safety and Security, Public Safety and / or Law Enforcement.

Responsibilities :
Takes initial complaint and generates reports to be investigated.Identifies and reports real or potential hazards in the environment.Maintains a positive professional image at all times.May transfer and discharge patients as requested.Checks fire safety equipment daily to ensure their proper operation and either corrects or reports their deficiencies to the appropriate department.Deters criminal activity and provides for a secure environment for staff and visitors through scheduled and unscheduled tours of the facility.Is knowledgeable and adheres to unit practice to allow or deny access to after-hours visitors.Provides for the protection and safety of patients, visitors, employees and physical property.After training, monitors psychiatric patients as directed by medical or psychiatric staff, to maintain the safety of patients, staff and visitors.Open and secure doors per department schedules or for authorized personnel.Answers telephones, monitors various radios and CCTV's in accordance with established procedures, dispatches available personnel as needed.Responds to emergency situations and unsafe conditions, interceding on behalf of Rochester Regional Health.Ensures that all shift duties assigned are completed in a professional and timely manner.Conducts random patrols of all RRH facilities and parking lots as assigned.Submits accurate and complete reports, documenting events, incidents, and situations encountered.When necessary, controls and monitors access at fixed posts.Properly secures and accurately documents the intake of property, valuables and cash.Provides escorts as necessary.Interacts with local law enforcement when necessary.Exercises good judgment and / or engages the appropriate resource when necessary.Acts as ambassador for RRH policies and values.Exhibits integrity in all forms of reporting activities, investigatory involvement, and personal interactions.Performs other duties as assignedRequired Licensure / Certification Skills :
NYS Security Guard Act License (OR) Registered as a Police or Peace Officer in NYS and required to obtain NYS Security Guard Act License within 3 months of hire.Valid NYS Driver's license.CPR certification New hires or obtain within 3 months of hire.Preventing Managing Crisis Situation Training (PMCS) certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.Physical Requirements :
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.Pay Range : $21.00 - $23.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
