Certified Nutrition Specialist

SAIC is looking for a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) for the Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) Program at Fort Cavazos, Texas.

This position is contingent upon contract funding; anticipated award in the Spring of 2025. The CNS will act as part of a multi-disciplinary team that will include Strength and Conditioning Coaches (SCC), Cognitive Performance Specialists (CPS) and Athletic Trainers (AT) to function as integrated members of a Brigade (BDE)-based team focused on optimizing Soldier readiness and performance within the Army’s new Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) System.

Job Duties :

• Train and educate Soldiers in individual and group settings, based upon evidence-based peer-reviewed literature, in specific nutrition plans.
• Conduct assessments to determine the nutritional readiness of the population and use the data to evolve programming initiatives.
• Developing lines of communication within the Brigade (BDE) and Battalion (BN) leadership to ensure the command identified objectives for nutrition education and training are being executed.
• Support the SCC staff by developing and delivering nutrition training programs that can be integrated into physical conditioning sessions delivered by the SCC.
• Track Soldier / unit progression and provide data to the H2F Program Director (PD) as required.
• Coordinate and assist the BDE leadership and / or the BDE Athletic Trainers (AT) to develop, coordinate, and execute approved nutrition programs for Soldiers with physical limitations.
