Our client, a rapidly growing AI startup founded by leading researchers in the field, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Finance Manager to build and oversee the company’s finance function from the ground up. - This is a full‑time, in‑person role based in the Bay Area.
Key Responsibilities :
Build and manage the company’s finance infrastructure, including accounting, payroll, payments, and expense management systems.Oversee the month‑end close and financial reporting across all entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in coordination with external accountants.Manage cash flow, forecasting, and treasury operations to provide clear visibility into company performance and runway.Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning to inform strategic and operational decisions.Develop and maintain key financial metrics, dashboards, and reports that translate data into actionable insights.Ensure compliance across U.S. and European entities, coordinating with tax, accounting, and legal advisors as needed.Continuously improve and automate financial processes to enhance scalability, speed, and accountability.Qualifications :
6+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A, ideally blending investment banking experience with hands‑on finance work in a high‑growth or venture‑backed tech startup.Strong understanding of accounting principles (U.S. GAAP; IFRS a plus).Proven success designing and implementing scalable financial systems and processes.Experience managing multi‑entity operations across jurisdictions and collaborating with external accounting and audit partners.Highly detail‑oriented, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a distributed, fast‑paced environment.Low‑ego, ownership‑driven mindset and a passion for building from first principles.Benefits :
