Description Acara Solutions is hiring a Document Control Specialist for our client's Engineering department. This is a contract position that will be fully onsite in Torrance, CA and operate on a 9 / 80 schedule (every other Friday off). Pay rate is $35-40 / hr, DOE.
Job Summary :
Manages product documentation and configuration using PLM and ERP systems. Ensures compliance with established configuration management principles, standards and command media.
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Works with designers, engineers, supply chain, CAD admin and IT to ensure release process and PLM / ERP functionality (Windchill, LN) meets the needs of the company as it relates to Document Control.
- Works with designers and engineers to define bills of material and their associated PLM / ERP attributes.
- Releases documents and bills of material into PLM / ERP system at completion of ECN (Engineering Change Notice) process.
- Updates documents (Word, Excel, etc) according to Engineering Change Notice authorization.
- Submits ECNs to approval system.
- Compiles product configuration information for program management and customer requirements (Data Packages, As Designed / As Built documentation, etc).
- Acts as Change Control Board (CCB) Chair representative at CCB meetings. Communicates or executes action items identified at CCB.
- Performs formatting checks for all non-drawing documents (PNP, manufacturing docs, forms, etc).
- Manages archive of documents and processing of product build documentation to comply with retention requirements.
- Audits released ECNs for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepares for and assists with external audits (AS9100 and DCMA).
- Other related duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications : Minimum 2 years' related experience Preferred Skills / Qualifications :
Familiarity with command media related to document control and configuration management.Knowledge of engineering change principles.Knowledge of basic drawing principles and standards.Ability to execute computer workflows, such as releasing documents in a PLM system, updating a document in Word, checking out a drawing from a database, among many others.Ability to work in cross-functional teamsAbility to identify potential problems with bills of materials or attributes before they are published or released, and the ability to solve those problems with minimal supervision.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to perform algebraic calculations.
