We are looking for a dedicated Medical Scheduler to join our radiology department in Rocklin, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in coordinating patient appointments, ensuring seamless communication, and maintaining accurate documentation within a fast-paced healthcare environment. Responsibilities :
- Schedule radiology appointments using electronic medical records systems like Cerner and other specialized software.
- Ensure patient appointments are accurately booked based on procedure requirements, provider availability, and physician referrals.
- Update schedules to accommodate cancellations, rescheduling requests, and emergency procedures.
- Maintain precise records by entering patient information, appointment details, and procedure codes into the system.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and collaborate with billing teams to ensure proper documentation.
- Communicate promptly with patients, referring physicians, and internal teams through written channels.
- Follow established protocols and policies to ensure confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Coordinate with radiologists, technologists, and other department staff to prevent scheduling conflicts and delays.
- Work closely with the front desk, billing, and patient services teams to ensure a smooth patient experience on appointment days.
- High school diploma or equivalent; medical office administration training or certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical scheduling, receptionist, or related role within a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with radiology procedures and terminology is preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems such as Cerner and other scheduling tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and confidentiality practices.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in scheduling and documentation.
