Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina, or be a graduating senior within three months of completing your program.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina, or be eligible for licensure, or a graduating senior in the next three months. BLS certification is required. NBRC credentials must also be maintained. Employees hired before June 2016 may be Certified Respiratory Therapists.
Those hired after June 2016 must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam with the Registered Therapist cut score and take the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation. Failure to pass the clinical simulation exam within the first six months may result in termination from Prisma Health.
NRP and PALS certifications are required for those working independently in the NICU and PICU.
