Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Title : Mechanical Design Engineer - MEP (Plumbing & HVAC)

Location : Pleasanton, CA

Salary : $80K - $125K (DOE)

Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our MEP team in Pleasanton, CA. This role focuses on designing Plumbing and HVAC systems for a diverse portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, and public sector developments. Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop mechanical designs for HVAC and plumbing systems across various building types including high-density residential, mixed-use high-rise, schools, hospitals, and industrial facilities.
  • Produce detailed construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit, including plans, schematics, and specifications.
  • Perform load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, equipment selection, and layout coordination.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient designs.
  • Conduct site visits, field inspections, and support construction administration as needed.
  • Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, Title 24 requirements, LEED standards, and client expectations.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in MEP design, with a strong focus on HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant mechanical design software.
  • Familiarity with California building codes, Title 24 energy compliance, and LEED certification processes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience with consulting services such as code studies, energy analysis, and peer reviews is a plus.
