Description :

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit.

This is a 13-week travel nursing position.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med / Tele setting.

The position is for the night shift, working 12 hours per shift.

The average census on the unit is 16 patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4 to 1 : 6.

The patient population includes those with chest pain, syncope, abdominal pain, COPD exacerbation, heart failure observation, and other common diagnoses.

Nurses will be responsible for managing tracheostomy care and chest tube management.

They will perform PIV starts, manage insulin and heparin drips, and titrate drips to heart rate.

Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team for patient care coordination is essential.

Knowledge of discharge planning and patient education is crucial for this role.

Nurses will receive support from certified nursing assistants for tasks such as vital sign checks, glucose monitoring, patient ambulation, and hourly rounding.

There are resources available, including a charge nurse, discharge nurses, and a dedicated respiratory therapy team available 24 / 7.

The facility utilizes a comprehensive electronic medical record system and various medical monitoring equipment.

Nurses should be prepared to float to all adult med-surg / telemetry units as needed.

Weekend rotation requires working 5-6 weekend shifts out of a 12-shift schedule over six weeks.

Working one shift during each major holiday is expected.
