Job Summary : The Buyer I is responsible for procuring goods and services to support the organization’s operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. This role involves collaborating with internal departments and external suppliers to meet procurement needs, while maintaining compliance with company policies and standards. Key Responsibilities :
- Review purchase requisitions and determine appropriate procurement methods.
- Identify potential suppliers and solicit bids or quotations for goods and services.
- Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate pricing and contract terms to achieve the best value.
- Generate purchase orders and contracts in accordance with company procedures.
- Track and monitor order status, ensuring on-time delivery and expediting as necessary.
- Resolve supplier issues related to pricing, quality, or delivery discrepancies.
- Maintain and strengthen supplier relationships through ongoing communication and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, documentation accuracy, and internal controls.
Required Skills :
Strong negotiation and communication abilities.Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Skills :
Experience using procurement or ERP systems.Familiarity with contract management principles.Understanding of supply chain logistics and inventory management.Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM).Education : Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Experience : 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field.
