Lead Software Engineer - Marketplace

Fleetio is on the lookout for an innovative and collaborative Lead Software Engineer to join our fast-growing Marketplace Engineering Team. As part of our team, you will play a pivotal role in building a seamless platform that enables our customers to easily discover and acquire the essential products and services they need for their fleet operations.

The Marketplace connects customers with maintenance shops, enhances service management, streamlines approvals, and simplifies transactions and billing through our Fleetio Pay solution. We support vendors by keeping their shop details up to date and help them manage payments from Fleetio customers effectively—all from one central hub.

This position allows for remote work and is open for candidates from the United States, Canada, or Mexico.

Detail-oriented and proactive, you thrive in fast-paced environments where your contributions can significantly impact outcomes. You bring extensive experience in planning, designing, and developing marketplace solutions alongside cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Designers, and Quality Engineers. Your strong communication skills are essential for successful collaborations.

Your Impact

• Contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of features to enhance our Marketplace offerings for vendors and customers.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow Engineers to deliver consistently high-quality software.
• Engage in collaborative architectural discussions to craft robust features.
• Write well-tested, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Conduct research and develop prototypes to validate assumptions and technical feasibility as needed.
• Play a key role in development and planning processes.
• Review peers' code thoroughly to ensure quality and consistency while sharing valuable knowledge.
