Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Civil Structural Engineer with expertise in cold-formed / light gauge steel design and a valid California PE license . The ideal candidate will lead the design and analysis of light gauge steel framing systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings, working closely with architects, developers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, analyze, and detail cold-formed steel structures in accordance with California Building Code (CBC) , AISI , and ASCE standards .
- Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for submittals and permitting.
- Stamp and sign structural documents as Engineer of Record for projects within California.
- Perform structural modeling using tools such as RISA, CFS, SAP2000, Revit , Telka Structures , and / or AutoCAD .
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current on industry codes, materials, and best practices specific to light gauge steel systems.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction administration support.
- Mentor junior engineers and drafters, providing quality control and technical guidance.
Qualifications :
Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering .Active California PE License (required).5+ years of structural engineering experience with a focus on light gauge steel systems.Proficiency in relevant structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, CFS, ETABS, STAAD, AutoCAD).Strong knowledge of cold-formed steel design, lateral systems, and seismic considerations.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with design-build delivery or coordination with panelized / prefabricated systems.Familiarity with DSA or OSHPD project requirements (if applicable).PE License in other statesSE License (Structural Engineer CA) is a plus but not required.Benefits :
