SUMMARY

We're hiring for a position open to both Principal Air Quality Specialist and Senior Air Quality Specialist level candidates. The level will be determined based on the successful applicant's qualifications, experience, and demonstrated skills during the interview process.

You will have the unique opportunity to lead and perform comprehensive environmental permitting studies, assessments, technical analyses and policy for PGE operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective risk management. As a key member of our environmental team, you'll provide expert technical and strategic consultation within the company and serving as a recognized authority in your field. You'll be at the forefront of integrating environmental stewardship with cutting-edge utility operations, directly contributing to PGE's sustainability goals, decarbonization, and our mission to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. RESPONSIBILITIES

Principal Environmental Science Specialist (P5 – Master Professional)

• Permitting / Studies / Assessments : Provides specialized expertise in a technical area. Provides expert technical and strategic consultation within the company. Leads or serves as subject matter expert permitting, the production of multiple studies of comprehensive scope in technical area or a large complex project or assignment. Provides technical guidance to team and company. Oversees preparation of deliverables. Manages or collaborates on efforts from prospect to deliverable. Serves as representative to all internal and external stakeholders. Recognized by external parties as expert in the field. Strategic resource to other groups within PGE. Oversees program management.
• Project Coordination : Actively coordinates with all internal / external PGE members. Facilitates effective and strategic outcomes. Resolves internal and external conflicts within team and stakeholders. Communicates stakeholder interests and drivers to project team members and develops strategies and approaches to accommodate these concerns. Oversees and leads client / agency interactions and presentations. Directs and coordinates specialist team in technical area on study assignments. May manage and supervise a team and associated resources. Senior consultant for multiple projects led by others. Strategic resource to other groups within PGE.
• Develop Tools and Processes : Strategizes and leads the implementation of improvements. As a process owner, approves the implementation of process and tool improvements. May develop or modify processes and systems as needed.
• Knowledge Sharing : Recognized in the industry as an expert within technical and policy area. Actively shares and promotes knowledge with PGE and industry. Mentors, encourages and involves other team members. Authors and presents technical papers to professional groups within the industry. Leadership in professional groups within the industry. Serves as spokesperson for PGE.
• Safety Practices : Promotes PGE standards, safety objectives and regulatory requirements. Ensures adherence by team members.
