Job Summary :
This role is a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) as the Chief Information Officer (CIO), and under direction of the Director and Deputy Director, this position is responsible for the overall strategic planning, implementation, and management of all information technology (IT) systems, networks, applications, and initiatives. This role is a key strategic partner to the the agency and will oversee digital transformation efforts, enhance operation efficiency, ensure secure and reliable technology by performing security and senior network and server administration tasks. The CIO will optimize the infrastructure to support efficient and effective operations, including website, point of sales, reservation system, and other applications and databases, across all state park locations and departments. This position will lead a team of IT professionals, manage vendor relationships, and oversee the IT budget.
This role requires occasional travel and overnight stays to various state park location and will support critical issues outside of business hours.

Knowledge of :
Methods to organize and present complex technological information to technical and non-technical staff.
The application of management tools to determine value and cost benefit analysis for projects, systems, and proposed improvements.
Current and state of the art system development and programming methodologies.
Advanced knowledge of management information systems concepts, capabilities, and possible application within the Department's network and systems.
State and Federal statutes, regulations, and policies pertaining to technology services.
State processes governing strategic and operations planning, management, budget and procurement.
Knowledge of the Department's organization structure and Parks Board process.

Selective Preference(s) :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, management Information Systems, Business Administration or other related information technology related field, with 10 years of related experience and 3 or more years of management experience in an IT or business operations environment.
Pre-Employment Requirements :
Must obtain, possess and / or maintain a current Arizona Driver's license appropriate to assignment.

Retirement :
