Job Description :
We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist Research Faculty to join a federally funded project at Clark University focused on advancing interdisciplinary data science education and real-world learning. The successful candidate will serve as the primary data scientist and a member of the project leadership team, working closely with the PI and Co-PI to plan, manage, and review implementation of project activities. This role offers a unique opportunity to integrate and further develop expertise in teaching, applied research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community engagement while contributing to the advancement of data science education and workforce development.
The Data Scientist Research Faculty will play a central role in shaping and delivering innovative educational experiences. Responsibilities include collaborating with disciplinary faculty on developing discipline-specific data science modules for use in a variety of courses, teaching or co-teaching a project-based data science course that integrates real-world projects and relevant theories and methodologies, and mentoring undergraduate students engaged in applied data science work.
In addition, the Data Scientist Research Faculty will be involved in the design, development, and maintenance of an online platform for resource sharing and community learning, supervising student assistants on related tasks. The role also involves organizing and contributing to collaborative workshops with educators, students, and community partners.
This is a full-time, in-person, 12-month position funded by NSF. The start date is flexible, but no later than January 5, 2026. The appointment will run through approximately August 31, 2028, contingent upon satisfactory performance. Questions about the position may be directed to ds@clarku.edu.

Expected Hiring Range : $81,600 to $90,750

The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget, internal equity, and the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related credentials. This range represents Clark University's good-faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting consistent with Clark's compensation philosophy and internal alignment.
