Job Description :

DHHS is seeking a Community Health Educator for our Public Health Division. As part of a collaborative team, you will serve as the project director for the Overdose Data to Action for States Program.

The position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of public health initiatives, working collaboratively to improve community health outcomes and prevent drug overdoses.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to support critical program activities, including :

• Assisting in the design, implementation, and monitoring of program evaluation and performance measures to ensure goals are achieved.
• Contributing to the development of annual grant applications, budgets, work plans, and progress reports.
• Engaging with internal and external partners to identify resources, gaps, and opportunities, fostering collaborative relationships.
• Providing technical assistance and training to contractors, subrecipients, and partners on evidence-based strategies to enhance drug overdose prevention efforts.
• Supporting the development, implementation, and oversight of contracts and subawards, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Monitoring and auditing contractor progress and financial reports and developing corrective action plans as needed to maintain compliance.
• Work collaboratively with other prevention staff as well as with Epidemiology staff.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications : Post high school coursework / training in community health education, biological science, adult / continuing education or related field AND experience in public / community health education activities with responsibility for : developing and evaluating health education programs; determining health needs; preparing educational and informational materials, training aids, and presentations; or conferring with individuals and groups to exchange information pertinent to community health education programs.
