Logistics Sourcing Specialist - USAC

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. The impact you'll make in this role provides sourcing advice and consults with logistics team to set short-term strategic direction and operating plans for transportation. Responsible for cost reduction, cash improvement opportunities, supply risk management, and sourcing initiatives and tools. May support management of accounts payable ledger and purchase order transaction management. Will assist and may lead negotiate highly complex sourcing contracts.

Here, you will make an impact by leading USAC Domestic logistics RFPs in Third-party Logistics Consolidation centers, Warehouse, Distribution centers, Rail car & Trailer leases, freight audit, and more.
Key responsibilities include :
- Strategic problem solving : Utilize analytical thinking and leverage market insights, data analytics, and supplier information to develop innovative solutions.
- Sourcing process management : Lead USAC logistics RFPs : Third-party Logistics Consolidation centers, Warehouse, Distribution centers, Rail car & Trailer leases, freight audit, and other logistics contracts.
- Contract negotiation and supplier management : Negotiate sourcing contracts and build strategic relationships with key suppliers. Develop a contract repository system and a methodology for tracking contract expirations. To ensure compliance with corporate sourcing policies and procedures. Negotiate and renew contracts with logistics suppliers that support plant operations.
- Cost management : Drive and support the implementation of cost-saving programs with logistics providers. Review Third-party Logistics Consolidation centers, Warehouse, Distribution centers, Rail car & Trailer leases, freight audit, cost structures to identify opportunities for savings.
- RFI / RFP and contract standardization : Conduct RFIs and RFPs to identify the most suitable carriers.
- Market analysis and process improvement : Analyze market trends related to labor, regional real estate to proactively engage suppliers for future sourcing decisions.
Your skills and expertise :
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and five (5) years of transportation or logistics sourcing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.ORHigh School diploma and seven (7) years of transportation or logistics sourcing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :Master's degree in engineering or Supply Change management from an accredited institutionTen (10) years of transportation and warehouse sourcing in a private, public, government or military environmentExcellent verbal and written communications.Strong program management and problem solving skills and collaboration across teams, functions and organization.Work location : On-site (job duties require travel to Maplewood at least 4 days per week). Travel : May include up to 20% domestic / international. Relocation assistance : Is not authorized.
